Our Pastor
Elijah B Demerson is a native of Amarillo, Texas. He is the eldest of five siblings born to Edmond and Mildred Demerson. Raised in a Godly home, he is a 3rd generation COGIC product and served in every area of the church.
Pastor Elijah served his formative years under the pastorate of the late Supt H. W. Cortez, the late Bishop W. C. Griffin of New Mexico and later 17 years under the late Supt. Noral C. Coffer.
With his twin Supt. Elisha L. Demerson, they became the first set of black twins to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point. After 2 years, Bro. Demerson returned to Amarillo and graduated from West Texas State University (West Texas A&M). Elijah married the love of his youth, Eartha. After 33 years they are the parents of Ersela, Adrienne (deceased), Natalie (Watkins) and Elijah II and the grandparents of Roddrick Watkins Jr.
From an acceptance to preach at 14 years old, Elijah has always taken the ministry seriously, adapting the motto “Preaching is my job, and I love my job."
"Pentecostal Temple is the “Church of Many Blessings”. I believe that the Lord spoke into my heart and said to me that the church would be opened to whosoever would come. We are a growing ministry of diverse cultures and generations. I invite you to come where the Holy Ghost is a resident and not a visitor. There is healing and wholeness through love and the Word."
